The 3600 by Nokia is a great phone. It is one of the few phones that fit the criteria I was looking for.

1) Supports a micro SD up to 8 GB ( comes with 512MB )

2) 3+ MP has 3 settings: still camera up to (2048×1536) the video cam. up to (640×480)

3) Quad band works worldwide (not sure what your carriers frequency is, buy a quad band phone)

4) Ultra compact with a sliding lock function.

5) Excellent battery life I go days without recharging.

6) The only phone under $200 delivered with the above features at the time I made my purchase. (my total cost 199.98 USD)

I discovered in the last 3 weeks:

1) Easy to navigate menu.

2) The ring tone can be set as mp3 or mp4.

3) The alarm is great and very functional

4) Many ways to transfer data including Bluetooth , USB, micro SD

5) Has FM Radio that works when the included head phones are plugged in.

6) The camera works even when the slider is closed.

7) Has games pre installed (but I have not yet got around to playing them)

Excellent reception ( so good keep away from your cordless home phone )

9) This phone could record video continuously until is stopped or the memory fills up or until an incoming call will cause the recording to pause and then could be resumed after the call ends.

Nothing is perfect:

1) No Wi-Fi

2) Speaker sound could be better

3) This specific unit was intended for the Far East region, so some features like the dictionary and maps might need updating to English and US territories.

* November update: I have owned this phone for 9 months and it is great. I droped it a few times and is is undamaged. The batery is as good as I first reviewed.

I always liked Nokia and love this phone. Menu is user friendly, phone is small and light but sturdy, battery holds up 4-5 days (I turn off phone for the nights though).

The music quality from Music player is very good and clear. I had to upgrade memory card as 512 mb is very small (about 50 songs max). Max. memory card for this model is 4gb (I have 8GB and phone uses 3.4 GB).

I love the option that I can set the alarm, turn phone off for the night and it will still wake me up asking if I want to switch to ON mode. Also when transfering or playing music I could still search the phone and do other stuff.

Camera is good, but it takes a second or two late pictures so it’s better to hold longer.

The only minus I found in this phone is that volume even if maximum is just average (even on loudspeaker). If someone have a hearing problems that will be a huge minus.

Other than that I’m very happy with this phone and recommend for a compact and sleek look (I don’t need an internet and 3G, but there is an option to check an email and maps application).
