This is a good looking shoe that has great cushioning, comfort & support. I own 2 pairs, one for the gym & a 2nd pair for every day use. No break in required, they are comfortable out of the box. I paid $30.00 less at Amazon, than my original pair which were purchased at a New Balance Store. As with all New Balance shoes, I needed a full size larger than my shoe size.

I’m probably an atypical user of the New Balance 993′s. I primarily use them for the treadmill and everyday use, i.e just walking around. Perhaps if you’re a hardcore runner you’ll have differnt criteria than me. I don’t care about the technical details but rather go by how they feel…which is wonderful. There’s plenty of cushioning and comfort without “hot spots”. I like the fact that these come in widths which most other companies don’t provide plus New Balance stands behind their products without fine print or asterisks. I once had to return a pair that wore out prematurely and without hassle they sent me a new pair pronto. Now that’s service! Other companies could learn a valuable lesson from New Balance. Bottom line – excellent product at a fair price.

My husband saw these at FootAction and wanted them DESPERATELY, but since they were $150 and since I am the Keeper of the Mastercard, he left shoeless and bereft.

When we got home, I googled them to see if there were any deals online, and surprise surprise, found ‘em on Amazon. These came direct from Road Runner sports for under $90 (!!) with free shipping. I think I ordered them on a Monday, and by Thursday, my husband didn’t have to wear plastic bags on his feet to leave the house anymore. Hurray!

He loves them and I think enjoys them even more because we got a crazy good deal for them. Once again, Amazon comes through
